Protecting and enhancing the Isle of Seil’s biodiversity; repairing important habitats that have been lost or are under threat and generating and sharing information in order to tell Seil’s unique environmental story.

 

Our Mission

  • To speak up for Seil’s wildlife and remote places.        
  • To prevent the loss or degradation of important habitats by actively pursuing land use agreements or purchase.           
  • To regenerate wildlife corridors based upon research directed habitat management.
  • To promote environmental research and record keeping.
  • To work collaboratively with local landowners, residents, businesses and others to promote and implement the CIC’s objectives to the mutual benefit of the community, visitors and wildlife.

Did you know?

Hypocreopsis rhododendri, the hazel gloves fungus, is a priority species on the Scottish Biodiversity List. It is Nationally Scarce and mostly found on hazel in Atlantic hazelwoods and examples of this iconic fungus can be seen in several locations on Seil.
